Anyone else out there that has insurance that won't cover? I read that some surgeons will work with you. I am in Chicago. Any feedback is welcome!

I also didn't have an insurance that would cover WLS. I did have a hernia and gallstones I didn't realize I had so I was able to pay for the gastric bypass when repair was made. Cost $4000 out of my pocket total.

I'm in Chicago also. Our policy doesn't cover wls. The first dr I went to wanted $26,000 and that didn't include my hiatal hernia repair. Then I found another dr that charges $16,000 and then I also have to pay $2,000 for my hernia so $18 total.

I can't tell you how relieved I was to find out my 20 yr old stomach staples were mangled. Apparently it has saved me a ton of money. But...thinking back he was willing to give a huge discount even if I was approved by insurance for hernia surgery. That was covered. So was my gall bladder.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
