Remember why you're on liquids - for healing. giving your sleeve adequate time to heal can mean you have an easier time advancing in future.

After all you went through to get surgery, I'm sure you can hang in there one more day!

I definitely vote you stick to the food plan your surgeon or nutritionist laid out for you. Advancing early could potentially cause complications. Is it miserable? Sure! But it's also only temporary!

I feel you! It's day 6 for me, and while I am not feeling hungry at all, I am definitely feeling drained of energy, like my fuel tank is beyond empty.

However, my surgeon specifically told me that even if I'm feeling great, don't advance the eating plan or it could compromise the healing process.

Never thought purees would be so appealing, but right now they sound so good!

Have you been able to meet your protein/water goals?

Yes on Water, not quite on Protein, and I am sure that is factoring into the tired feeling. My plan calls for 48-64oz Water and 100g Protein. Yesterday I managed about 60 oz water and 64g protein. The day before I had around 64oz water but only 40g protein.

It takes me forever to finish a Protein shake. Today I am trying double strength Protein shakes so I should have an easier time. I was doing 8 oz almond milk, 1 scoop Protein powder. Today I am doing 12 oz with 2 scoops of Protein Powder so I only have to drink 2 shakes instead trying to finish 4.

That's good, I'm steady trying to meet my goals but I get reflux/ burping after a sip on anything

I had that same issue immediately post-op. It only lasted about two weeks, until the swelling went down. It was a lot easier to meet my protein and water goals after that. You just have to keep sip, sip, sipping and doing the best you can. Try marching in place while sipping. That seemed to help me a little.

I can drink Clear liquids fine, but get the burping when I am drinking Protein shakes. It's why it takes me so long to finish one. Just keep at it, a little at a time. I take TINY sips. My "breakfast" shake took about 3 hours to drink (12 oz). Now I am working on my "dinner" and I expect it will take just as long.

It sucks, but I know I need to get the Protein in. So I keep sipping away and just deal with the burping. It's not too bad as long as the sips are very small.

Yes i think i wasnt sipping like i shud. Today, ive sipped in smaller increments and was able to drink 8oz of Water and took me like 30 mins or so to drink my 12oz Protein breakfast...so thats a good sign. Today im supposed to start on pureed but am gonna give it 2 more days to work on my water intake...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
