After I got past day 3 things got so much easier emotionally. I am on day 9/14 and I still get a few temptations and cravings but it is easier to turn them away. I do miss chewing though.

Yesterday was my husband's birthday. I am admitting that I had a small amount of food with the family when we went out last night. But, I'm acknowledging that I didn't like how I felt after and we have less than a week now! We're into the homestretch. So, I'm back to my Clear liquids today.I hope it's a great day for everyone!

@@lauraaza I promise, it gets so much easier. My diet is liquids only and I was having a hard time the first few days. Last night I was actually surprised that I couldn't even finish my Soup for dinner!! I threw half of it out! Im actually thankful that they require this preop diet as I feel it has helped to prep me for after surgery. It's put me in a better head space already where Im not thinking about food so much, more about the things I can do and need to get done!! Only 3 more days for me!! I can't wait!!

@@Photo925 Thank you for the encouragement!

I had to take a nap yesterday just to stop thinking of my hunger. When I woke up, I made my small dinner and dinner for my family. I ate very slow and practiced chewing 20 times. I'm used eating fast and shoveling my food. I was still very hungry after my meal. Today is day two...

Today is my 1st day of my preop diet. I can have 1 Protein shake for breakfast and one for lunch. 3oz lean meat and non-starchy veggies for dinner. I am soooo hungry!! My surgery is on June 20th. This preop diet is gonna be so hard with all the food around the house for my four kids and hubby.

Does it get easier?

Day 12 for me and I am getting very nervous. I'm not that thrilled with the after surgery care they outlined for me but don't want to start over. Basically I was told that I won't see my surgeon again after the hospital stay unless there is an issue. They neglected to mention when I started all this that the follow up appts are all group or nurse visits. I am really craving a banana. (How's that for a non sequiter?)

I was on one week with 1 Protein shake and two small meals of fish, chicken or turkey and a cup of veggies. This week is all liquid. Three Protein shakes and Water, broth, sugar free Jello, sugar free Popsicles, Decaf tea and coffee. My surgery is June 16th. I'm on day two of liquids and I'm hungry but hanging in there so far :)

Day 3 of preop diet. I couldn't wait for my small meal. Im eating very slow and small bites. Which is very different for me. Im used to shoveling food in my mouth and barely chewing. I'm drinking Water all day to keep my mouth busy. I can hear my pantry calling me! Ugh!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
