Help!

How can I stop all this post up craving

I been resisting the temptation of trying things i'm not suppose to have until today i made chicken Soup with Pasta in it for my 4yr old. I had 2 spoonfuls with smushed Pasta and next thing I know my heart is pupping fast and i'm sweating. I start feeling extremely tired and lightheaded. Right now i'm feeling a bit nausea.

I live with parents, brother, son and my hubby so there is food constantly around me. Any advice anyone PLEASE!

I got that for the first six months after having the sleeve, it was awful. I dread going through it again with bypass.

I think its has alot to do with my husband not being supportive.

People please give me advice please if you read this leave a comment. I will be strong not to have anything besides what i'm suppose to now because I already experienced an episode of dumping syndrome.

Has anyone out there gone through this situation where the spouse is not supportive at all?

You have to take control of what you put in your mouth.

You can do this.

I would encourage counseling to deal with emotional eating. I'm sorry your husband isn't supportive. I'm sure that makes it more difficult. I would try talking to him and explain how you need his support to get healthy and be around for him and your children. Maybe he'd go to counseling with you! Good luck.

I am so sorry you are having struggles with hubby. My husband is extremely supportive so I know that I am lucky. Given that, he still eats like crap and brings junk food into my house. I feel like I cannot ask him to change because I chose to have surgery. I had hoped that seeing my success will get him to the same place over time,

The reason I tell you this is because I had to decide whether or not I could change my behaviors regardless of what crap food is in my house.

I decided I wanted to get healthy and so I literally convinced myself that I could do it and I have.

Now, there is one place where I have literally put my foot down and that is I do not ever eat crappy fast food so if he wants it, he has to go get it himself and if we go out to eat it will never be at a place like mcDonalds. He understands and allows me to pick the restaurant.

It has worked for me. In the very beginning (first 8 months post op), I stuck to the plan 100%. I never strayed for fear of dumping. Now, on occasion I can and do have chicken noodle soup! LOL......or something along those lines..

The important thing is that I am in control of what I choose to eat, not him. He respects what I have done and is very proud of me because I make decent choices 98% of the time and that is half the battle.

In terms of fighting cravings, that will be there always. Sometimes you will give in to it but the majority of the time, stick to the plan especially this early post surgery.

Best of luck to you!

What you just said is true I've been so busy in my Protein liquid intake and my emotions that have gone crazy(mood swings)

that I totally forgot I can't change hubby

Either he supports me or not, but I decided to have this do I will have to stick to the plan.

I know things will get better as time goes by. I hope so

Thanks

I actually am going through this too. Last night, I put a tiny piece of grilled chicken in my mouth. Sucked on it, chewed it, and spit it out. Same with an individual shrimp. I never swallowed anything. Maybe I'm insane for trying, but let me tell you... it was satisfying. Just to have a flavor that wasn't a sweet flavor was a big deal. It got me over my mental hump.

Crab meat my pouch did not like. Made me dump really bad so I wont be having that in a while.

I want to update you guys I still have mood swings, but i've learned to manage the swings ????

I'll start my first post up support group meeting this Wednesday

I have been lucky so far with dumping, but I got really sick today after eating too much celery at a bariatric support/focus group. I knew some vegetables could be bad, but they didn't give me any issues until 12 hours later. I ate a little it went fine so I ate some more. My practice does mostly sleevers, so nothing really focused on vegetables causing dumping or major problems except stoma blockages for large, uncooked pieces, and I was doing so well with cucumbers and small salads and staying away from too much sugar and breads, grains and Pasta, but the celery got me. Apparently celery, asparagus and corn are bad ones. Cabbage too. I avoided the carrots because I thigh they would be harder. I had just sat through a 1 hour nutritionist lecture saying eat more veggies but Protein first. I guess I got ahead of myself.

Crab meat made me sick. It turned on me and I vomited before I dumped.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
