  • I'm curious to see others responses.. because this looks good. I have been told before not to eat anything with sugars in the double digits.

I have looked at those before but the sugars seemed too high to me as well. It's the BBQ Sauce. I loved sweet baby rays but just can't do it anymore.

yeah my nutritionist said nothing over 10 grams. This article I read a while ago actually says 8 grams.

The sugar seems a bit high, but turkey Jerky and cured meats in general can be a great snack. I relied heavily on turkey sticks (like beef sticks but made with turkey) in the early months post-op, once I was allowed solid foods.

Man, I lived off of Jerky for months! I needed the sodium to help bring my BP back up. But alas, I have to agree with everyone else. Sugar has to be lower than that. Sweet Baby Rays uses corn Syrup which breaks down quickly and requires more for the same level of sweetness as real sugar or honey. Keep looking, you'll find something you like and is a good jerky.

However, I would also like to add one thing. Don't focus on sugar in one meal, more like the entire day. If you only have 20 grams the entire day, who cares if it all came from one or two items? Unless of course you get the dreaded dumping syndrome. Ugh... I had an iced coffee once that made me want to die!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
