I don't understand my lap band

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 2/4/07 and filled twice. I never feel full unless I eat like a truck driver. The only experience I have had is that certain times dry food gets stuck and I feel like I'm gonna choke. Other than that I can't really say this is the best way to lose weight. I have gained 8 lbs. Sure, my doctor says to eat only certain foods and then I will lose. Well, hell, if I followed what he says I wouldn't have needed an operation. I was under the impression that satiety was going to be felt. Since I never feel full unless eaten a lot or am afraid of choking to death. Whats the purpose?

Yes.....you need a fill.....my doctor clearly says......if you feel very hungry, get a fill......sometimes it may take a while to adjust your band. But, in saying this.....the band is a tool to help us change our lifestyles........we still need to focus on healthy eating choices.......and excercise......it's not always easy.........but with the band as a tool.....coupled with smart health choices.....along with support from this site and people around us.......we can achieve our goals........

All the best to you........I hope it get's easier in the next short while......let us know if another fill helps........

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
