Should I get a tummy tuck?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone I'm three years post op vsg I weighed 260 pounds and lost 120 pounds but recently in the last six months or more gained 28 pounds I have managed to lose 8 of those pounds and I'm trying very hard to lose the remaining 20. I do have loose skin on my stomach area so I know even when I had hit my goal originally I still had a lot of loose skin. Im 26 years old and do you want to have kids in the future maybe five or more years from now.

I'm wondering if anyone has had a Tummy Tuck and if you're happy that you had it done? I am also wondering if I should get it done and enjoy feeling confident in my 20s or if I should wait to have children and then get the tummy tuck done. My last question is if you did get the tummy tucks done are you OK with how the scar looks and has it gotten any better after healing?

Thank you so much!

Standard tummy tucks can produce undesirable aspects, such as "dog ears", so you might want to consider the 360 degree version.

Your post sort of implies that you plan on gaining a lot of weight with your future pregnancy. If so, please know that you don't have to!

I'm waiting until I'm done having kids. I'm cheap, and wouldn't want to have to pay to have another tuck.

You never know how you'll carry though. It's a big gamble. You could get the tuck now and have kids and it will still look great. Or not and be back where you started.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
