I had a hysterectomy about 15 years ago so I thought I was well past needing to supplement Iron....I met with my NUT yesterday and she said I should take Iron........but all the paperwork I got from her says something like "50-100 mg of iron/day if menstruating/risk of anemia" .....Does everyone need to take Iron after sleeve?.....just wondering if she made a mistake. I don't want to take more things than I need to....Thoughts?

I too had a hysterectomy several years ago and bypass last June and am taking Iron supplements (36 mg per day). Had my labs yesterday and all is good.

@@kmorri - I spoke to the nurse at Dr. Uchals office about the extra Iron a few weeks post. It causes bathroom issues for me. I was told to just stick with the Iron I am getting in my multi-Vitamin and not take the extra iron.

This was all post-op and confirmed by my first round of BW. I just went today for BW for my 1 year post-op. Hoping it turns out as good as the last two rounds post-op.

I haven't had a period in over 20 years and I go for my 3 month followup April 2oth. The documentation I have from the Dr says only menstruating women need to take the Iron. We shall see what the surgeon says when I see him. I know the documentation says I need to take a fatty acids I think it is. Do you have to take these and what kinds do you all take? What do they do for us? Thanks

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
