My surgery is 4/5/16 and I am beyond excited. Got the call from the nurse today to confirm details and get my arrival time. Due to a hand injury I am working half days until my surgery so that only gives me 20 work hours to go. Any support now would be wonderful. Tips and tricks, things to avoid or things you found worked well are all welcome.

Congratulations! Wish you the best. You will do great and best advise is to do exactly as your surgeon tells you. Drinking Water is extremely important. Try your best staying hydrated. What helps me stay on track is writing on my journal. Being positive and looking forward to your new you will be rewarding. :)

Omg and get up and walk asap! First time needed the nurse and hubby with me. After that walked the halls by myself with the IV every 2 or 3 hours!

I was just discharged from hospital today I had the bypass on 03/31. Bring Chapstick, comfy house shoes, your favorite crystal light, and your favorite hot tea ++ gas x strips. Walk ASAP.. I walked the day I had surgery even though it was excruciating....I cried and walked it takes a while for gas to pass but all the others who had surgery same day as me had to stay addtl night in Hospital BC they were in so much pain and not passing gas bc they would not walk.

Hey all feeling sore and sometimes nauseous but otherwise ok. I only had to stay one night at the hospital. According to the surgeon everything went smoothly. The only big issue I have been having is urinating but it seems to be getting better with time. Thanks for all the well wishes, it really helps brighten my day!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
