Anyone go home day of surgery?

Recommended Posts

I am getting sleeved tomorrow morning, supposed to stay 1-2 nights- depends on how well I can tolerate fluids. Anyone go home same day? I really don't want to stay at all. I work at a hospital - really don't want to sleep there.

Agree ! I've had over 20 surgerys and I wanna go

Home after mine. Hate being away from my kids as surgerys is only time

I have and I wanna go

Home ASAP.

I had surgery at 3 pm Friday and went home 9am Saturday. So even though it was less than 24 hours it was overnight. I never actually slept though. Just watched TV, Facetimed with friends, emailed, texted and walked the halls. I can never sleep after anesthesia.

I had no pain or nausea and was sipping fluids. After being discharged I walked 2 miles, went shopping, took a nap, then watched a movie before going out to dinner with my sister. I sipped chicken broth and watched her eat enchiladas and sip her margarita.

I'll be having mine tomorrow also and I'll be going home same day. It's an outpatient surgery for me.

If, you have sleeve, you need to do UGI, after that is up to the doctor!

I ended up staying the night thank goodness. Difficulty in urinating which is the norm for me and anesthesia but worst of all the gas pains. I walked, I sipped, I got drugs, and went home the next day in the evening. Still battling gas at day 5 but each day gets better. Able to drink and get Protein in for most part.

There is no way I would have been well enough to go home. I was still in a cycle of vomiting, sleeping, moaning 24hrs after.

I stayed for 3 nights and the cab ride home was almost unbearable. I also had my gallbladder removed when I was sleeved.

Others I shared a room with were up and about 24hrs later.

I had my sleeve 3/30 at an outpatient surgery center and went home the same day with no issues. Hope you are doing well!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
