What is the best position to sleep in?

Recommended Posts

I have always slept on my stomach, but after the surgery the nurse said I should sleep on my back. I get that for the first few weeks after, but what about now? I actually feel more pain when sleeping on my back. Depending on my position, I've been having pain that really radiates in the area of my liver. They did do a liver biopsy when they placed the band, but I had a liver biopsy several years ago and did not have any residual pain that lasted for weeks. Is it best to sleep on left or right side? I would really just like to be comfortable again sleeping.

I had the sleeve done and put a pillow under my right side and slept on the right side from night one at the hospital. My dr never told me a position to sleep in, just told me to listen to my body. I also used an ice pack for the first two weeks or so on the large incision. I have had no issues with doing this and am now 9 months out. I even did this after my gallbladder surgery in December.

I sleep on the opposite side from where my port is. This is the opposite side from what I am used to, but that is what is comfortable for now while I heal.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
