OMG OMG OMG I got approved today AND set my date!

I am beyond excited right now!!

I just finished the last of my "homework" yesterday with lab work and had an appointment coming up this week to determine what comes next... thinking that's when they'd submit for insurance approval and then I'd have an eternity to wait and see if it went through.

IMAGINE my surprise when I get a call today and they said that not only had they already submitted for approval, but it was approved and I have my date set for 2 WEEKS!!!! March 15th, baby! That's one wonderful birthday present to myself (March 7th!)

Thank you all for the support and shared excitement! I've been giddy all day at work! :)

I'm getting the RNY bypass. My doctor is amazing and I'm feeling just on top of the world!

I was originally worried, because I have Blue Shield California, and the requirements used to be a 6 month waiting period, but they changed it last year and a lot of offices hadn't gotten the change, so when I went in for my first consultation, they still said 6 months. I found the updated surgery requirements document from a lovely gal on this site, who ran into the same snag, brought that into the doc's office, and now, about 2 months later I'm almost ready for surgery!! SQUEE!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
