Anyone getting a sleeve in March 2016?

Recommended Posts

I am booked in for 5th March and would love to talk to you if you are! I'm 33 yr old female from Croydon, Greater London and having my surgery with Mr El Hesani in Orpington.

I'm a relatively low BMI for the procedure (BMI 32) but they are allowing the surgery to go ahead due to some underlying health issues.

I'm currently on my 2 week pre-op diet and my sugar cravings are out of control :-( this is so hard.

Hope to hear from you! Would love to swap experiences.

Thanks xoxoxo

I'm in the US, but my surgery is March 2nd!!!!! I'm on day 9 of Pre-op Diet... Protein shakes and Water only... It was rough at first but I got to see where my eating habits were a problem (when mad at hubs, bored, late at night) and for someone who has a difficult time sticking to anything... I havent cheated once... (This is huge for me)... Currently weigh 355 lbs 6'0" tall... Im so excited!!

Thank you for getting back to me guys. It's so nice to have people to talk too on here! I am on my second week of the pre op diet and hopefully I do better this week than my EPIC fail last week. I drank (alcohol) on 3 nights, ate sweets, carbs and pretty much everything else that is banned. My will power is just shocking. I have 5 days to go for surgery and I am going to stick to the diet like crazy. I am so determined. I have to do this. I'm so scared the doctor is going to operate and then see that my liver is just a huge hot mess and then he won't operate. I know that I can't re-do my wrongs and if anything happens then all I have is myself to blame. I'm hoping that if I drink enough Water and hardly eat anything he won't be able to tell....ugh. This part has got to be the worst, surely?! How long are you guys taking off work after the surgery? I'm off for 1 week. And then I'm walking straight into a brand new job. Hopefully they won't notice that I'm only eating liquified foods!! It's a fresh start at least. Xx

Hi Lulu Lulu and welcome to the forum. I had my surgery last August and have never spoken to anyone who has regretted it. I feel fantastic! I don't know whereabouts you are in the UK but I found the cost of surgery was very negotiable. Good luck with your. Journey.

I had my surgery in the UK with BMI hospitals. The cost was £9.5k. I think that was totally worth it because the surgeon I had was one of the top bariatric surgeons in the country. They also insist on a 3 night stay in the hospital following the op to ensure that you are getting the upmost care which really helps you start your journey on the right path and minimises any potential health risks. I have 2 small children so even that break not being at home, running around after them, doing housework, etc, did me the world of good. I had my surgery on Saturday and now I am resting at home. Feel okay, weirdly I am getting these gnawing hunger pains but I have read that might be because my stomach is producing too much acid so I need to speak to the doctor and ask him to prescribe me a higher dose of anti-acid. My eye sight was also incredibly blurred after the surgery, so much so that I couldn't really see anything but colours and shapes. This was caused by the anti sickness medicines they had me on but it freaked me out for a while! It's slowly getting better now though which is good. I was so worried ahead of my surgery that they would operate and then abandon the mission once they saw how bad my liver (I was really bad in the first week) i asked the doctor what it was like after the surgery and he said that my liver was fatty, but soft so it was easily moved out of the way for the surgery. I drank tons of Water ahead of the surgery, stuck to the diet like crazy and took loads of milk thistle so I think that must have helped. I slept for pretty much 24 hours after the surgery and feeling much better with everyday that passes also I'm looking forward to a full recovery. Xxx

Hi Annie I had my op with BMI in Carmarthen back in July 2015. It's the best thing I have ever bought! I have lost 85 lb and would like to make it to 100 lb by my first year.

Hope all going well for you

Chris

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
