I was so scared I backed out twice but this truly was the best thing I ever did. The first couple of days are hard with the whole air pockets but you will fine by day number 5!

The unknown is what scares me. Being asleep while the procedure is taking place. I'm scared to say it out loud BUT not waking up keeps going through my mind

Did you feel it was like a short nap or long nap? Were you drowsy when you woke up? How long was your surgery? ????

I talked to all of my anesthesiologists a lot before surgery. Just spend some time with her or him, they will introduce themselves to you. Ask them ANYTHING. I am a chronic pain patient, so I tell them going in that their tiny little "martinis" might not work on me. They laugh. One said to me once, that he could throw everything at me until I stopped breathing and then they bring me back from that. They're very good. Not to worry about not waking up.

They use monitors for your brain activity, monitors for your breathing, monitors for oxygen levels, brain health, organ health, they have everything timed precisely from the minute they relax you until they get a breathing tube in you and sedated for surgery.

I remember one time I told one of the Dr.s that he'd better watch my brain activity, because I did not want to wake up during surgery! =) He lol'd and said that a bell would go off. They listen to all kinds of beeps. He said I'd only have a problem if he suddenly went deaf during the procedure. =)

It felt like an actually sleep. You do wake you a little drowsy and you will be going in and out of sleep for most of that day. I wanna say my surgery was around an hour.

I remember being wheeled to the OR, got on the surgery table and was asleep in a matter of minutes!

I woke up in recovery. I remember hearing the nurses talking and telling me surgery was over. It literally felt like I had just had the best nights sleep ever lol!

You will also receive a shot to relax you, talk to your anesthesiologist about your nervous right. As everyone stated they will take care of you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
