I just had my sleeve done in Monday and I was able to come home last night. Anyone else have feelings that they made the wrong choice? I can handle the pain, but the nausea is killing me. Every time I try to drink anything it feels like liquid fire!! Anyone else experience this? If so how long does it last before you start feeling better. Thanks in advance!

I was sleeved June 21st 2015. As for drinking and feeling like its liquid fire, I can't help you on that one. I personally never experienced that feeling but as for the nausea and feeling that you've " made a mistake?", I was right there with you. I was extremely nausea, dizzy and just felt like " what did I do to myself?!?! But believe me, it all goes away and then you realize it's the best decision you've ever made! It took about a month for me to feel good about what I had done. In my situation, the first month was HELL. After the nausea went away, I was left with extreme hunger..... Good luck to you!

That is very helpful! I think it burns because of the reflux. I have never had reflux until having this surgery. Today so far has been a pretty good day, it's just all so hard to wrap my head around.

maybe it was the tube from having in your throat that cuases that burning? I haven't had my surgery but from previous operations I recall the similar feeling.

I never had the burning. I was just nervous about eating and drinking. I took a zofran a day for about 2 months for the nausea. I have never regretted my surgery. I've had my ups and then my downs with the stalls but I am so happy I did it. I am nine months out. Just had my 9 month check up today. I have lost 91% of my excess body weight. Doctor is extremely pleased with the loss and considers me at a goal weight. My absorption tests are normal. My lipid panel blood pressure, and insulin are all normal.

The night that I got out of the hospital, I had a 4 hour drive home. IT WAS AWFUL. I wasn't able to keep liquids or medication (including sub-lingual, the taste made me sick) down for a solid week after returning home. I regretted my decision because of the nausea. It felt like it was never going to end. And that mixed with heart burn made me feel like I made the dumbest decision ever, although I kept that to myself. What helped me was ice Water. That soothed my heart burn and felt nice on my heeling tummy. It took until week 4-5 for that to mostly go away for me (thanks to prescription heat burn and nausea meds). Now I am a month post op and I can drink Water pretty normally, as well as eat normally. I no longer regret my decision. Everyone has the initial regret because there is no way that you can be prepared for how truly hard it will be. Just stick with it and stay strong, eventually you will look at it as the best decision you have ever made.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
