2 weeks out and only lost 10 pounds

Recommended Posts

So I had my surgery the 25th and I've only lost about 10 pounds. I've been 10 pounds lighter for quite a few days. I've hit a stall pretty early on and haven't lost much, is this normal?

Day of surgery weight: 240

I hit my first stall during weeks 2 and 3 post-op. Then I dropped six pounds during week four. It's not uncommon at all (in fact, do a search for "three-week stall").

your body's going to do what it's going to do. Some people lose weight fast, others lose it slow and steady. So many things can affect it (I'm definitely a slow loser, but I've lost 153 lbs in total). Just stick to the plan and you will definitely lose!!!

p.s. I only lost 16 lbs that first month - and six of it was during week 4. So I was right where you are. But like I said, I've lost 153 lbs, so don't worry - it'll come off as long as you follow your plan!

My surgery was the 26th, 2 weeks tomorrow and have lost 13 but 2 of that is what I did second week. Need to work on my walking but suffered a gout attack in my left foot this past weekend hopefully tomorrow I can start walking again

While you are healing don't expect to lose a ton of weight. Most people don't lose a lot in the beginning. The people that do just shout about it the loudest. 10lbs at your start weight is pretty normal.

I was sleeved on 1/25 also. I'm 5'10 and my surgery weight was 242. I hit 233 today, 2 weeks out, and I'm pleased with that! People who have more to lose are going to have faster weight loss, and that's ok. Just imagine - have you ever lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks before? Hang in there - it all adds up!

A lot of swelling and inflammation is most likely the culprit.

Very sorry about the painful gout. Hopefully this will ease up and allow you to get mobile again.

Right there with you! Sleeved 1/26. I'm not too worried about it yet. Just keep following the plan and it will all fall into place.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
