When did you get to eat solids?

Recommended Posts

I will get to eat my first solid an egg on Tuesday, 14 days post op. 16 days since I last ate anything solid. I had only 2 days of preop Clear liquids since I haven't eaten anything since Jan 23rd. How about you? When did you have surgery? When do you get to eat solid food again?

I was on full liquids from the day I went home to day 9. At day 9 I got puréed. At 1 month I got soft stage and 2wks later full solids.

I stuck with Protein shakes through the first 4 weeks.

I then transitioned to light flaky fish and chicken.

One of the absolute staples in my diet are the little foil pouches of flavored tuna. They have been outstanding work lunches.

I have three weeks from surgery date on liquids thin enough to pass through a fork (one week in hospital, two at home), then another two weeks on blended/mushy food, then introduce solids

No solids for me until 8 weeks post op, and then they had to be soft enough to cut easily with a fork. Not released to "full" solids etc. until six months post op.

i started the pre op liquids on jan 20th, sleeved the 27th. today i was cleared a day early to start my soft foods. just had my first scrambled egg and it took me 40-45 mins to eat. no problems while i was eating it but now that i am done, i realize i may could have stopped a few bites ago. just going to take some learning on how to tell if i am full or not i suppose!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
