I was sent home with tramadol for pain. I'm allergic to many pain meds so this one is settling but I don't feel that it works as well. Also have reglan for nausea. The third med is protonix which I have to take daily for 3 months however insurance won't cover it so waiting on the dr to fight that out. Took a nap but the gas pain is kicking up again. Ugh.

Are your gas pains just like cramps? I am sore all over my body - legs, neck, arms, shoulders, back. Everything hurts except my incisions. Is all that gas?

Also anyone else feeling weird when they swallow? Like it goes down in a lump then somehow spreads out and goes down?

I got Tramodal too because I'm also allergic to every thing else. Only the where my incisions are is a little soar. I'm not sore everywhere. I was intubated also but it seems like my throat isn't sore this morning. I'm still only able to sip on Water and crystal light. I'm going to try to sip some broth today hopefully I'll be able to hold it down. I hope all of you have help when you go home. My husband has been able to stay with me at these past couple of days. I don't know how I would have gotten along without him.

I find myself holding Water in my mouth. Swallowing is definitely harder.

Yep. I was doing that with my Protein shakes.

What all have you consumed? They just brought my Breakfast tray and I was demolishing my chicken broth. I found that it is so warm and soothing and I was able to get more down! I'm happy about that because I can get my liquids in! I was so worried about not being able to.

This Protein Drink is pretty good too. post-265899-14545156406133_thumb.jpg

Hubby took a sip and said he wanted to order some. He found them online and bought an assorted pack of 7. Definitely good for the days that I don't want a heavy premier chocolate shake.

Hello everyone,

Im having my procedure done at Mi hospital in Tijuana. I chose Dr. Ortiz because of his experience, continuing education, certification and reviews. I went through A lighter Me. I'm in communication with Sonya who is my coordinator and very helpful answering my questions . I'm still scared and excited but when I read all the positive notes from everyone my fear subsides then I'm excited again, so to everyone I want to say ...Thank You and Good Luck to All : )

OK, back at the hotel and headed home tomorrow. I have been lucky, no gas pains, I haven't been nauseous at all. Just a little bit odd tenderness in my abdomen. Drinking my clear Isopure and Water. Had a little broth for lunch. I definitely feel when I take to big of a swallow.. All is well here and ready to get back to the US. Everyone here has been amazing. I would recommend this to anyone. I have been reading thru and I see for the most part everyone is doing well... Awesome ????????

What is the best flavored broth that you guys have found. The hospital had some better tasting broth. I bought some Rachael Ray broth, it's so bland. I know there has to be better broth out there:( I tried calling the hospital but the cafe is not answering

I used Dr alejandro lopez with ALO bariatrics. He was amazing. The whole thing has been top notch with awesome care and concern from everyone. Even those at the hotel have really been great. If your friend wants to use him I have a coupon for 100 dollars off.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
