LIQUID RESET?

Recommended Posts

what exactly is a liquid reset? what do you do? how long? how does it work? after the "reset", do you go back to full foods or start over with blended stage? i'm 6 months post op and have hit a HUGE STALL. it is becoming quite frustrating. (did i mention it is a HUGE STALL?). i have heard that a liquid reset can help get things back on track.

That's a great question. I've been having trouble dropping my last 27 lbs. I wonder if this could help? I look forward to hearing everyone's answers!

All it means is to go back on your pre-op diet, which for most patients was a liquid diet. My pre-op diet was as follows:

Week 1:

All the Water, tea and sugar free drinks you like

All the broth you like

All the sugar free Jello and sugar free popsicles you like

2 Protein shakes (Breakfast and lunch)

dinner is lean non-breaded meat on a bed of greens

Week 2:

The same as week one but dinner is replaced with another Protein shake.

almost eight months out and haven't had a true stall since the infamous three-week one, but my weight loss has been pathetic this month (like - 2 lbs since Jan 1). My surgeon once said that if you hit a stall, sometimes going back to a liquid diet (like the pre-op) for 2 or 3 days might get things moving again. I may try it....

My doc had me do a liquid reset at 8 months, due to not losing quite as much as he had hoped (85 just wasn't enough I guess). So I did a week of liquid Protein and Water, then went back to normal eating....protein first, then complex carbs. It seemed to reset my restriction.

So many different versions, including the ones listed above. Another one is the "5 day pouch test". You can google it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
