I don't think I'm ready for running, but I did walk over 35 miles last week …averaging 7 miles per day.

I always get stuck after the first few weeks. But mine has more to do with my lungs than my legs being tired. I have asthma so I always have trouble. I'm starting over this week and will probably have to stretch some of the earlier weeks out.

Just another post to say couch to 5k rocks! I just got one of those "two years ago" reminder thingies on Facebook that I did my first day of couch to 5k exactly two years ago!!

Changed my life, seriously. Almost as much as the WLS did

I have always wanted to do this! Not sure where to start though. Is the c25k an app? Or do you find the info on line? Also how do you find out about different races? It must be so fufulling to run and finish a race!

There are a lot of smart phone apps. I used one called 5k runner that works with whatever music or whatever you like to listen to and cues you when to walk and run.

I find races posted at a local running store, in the back of running magazines and at www.active.com

A few years ago, I started to do some running. I did all my training on a treadmill and eventually got to where I could run 4 miles without stopping. I then tried to transition to running outside and I couldn't run more than a few minutes. I'm not sure what my problem was, but I just couldn't do it. This time, I'm doing both treadmill and outside running so that I'm not stuck with a hard transition. Fortunately, my gym has an indoor track that I can use on snowy days.

You know what's funny? I run outside and typically 3-6 miles on an average day, and I struggle to get through 2-3 on a treadmill! Depends on what you're used to I guess!

Okay, so I did my race yesterday and after only the first week of C25K I dropped another 3.5 minutes off my time compared to last race!

This is my 7th 5K since August. I started just walking, then added in the treadmill to help increase my speed. When I use the treadmill I use a program that varies the incline so it is more like being outside. I also walk outside, but living in New Hampshire means this time of year is cold and snowy and wet! So, I mostly go to the gym. When I first started my finishing time was just over 50 minutes on a flat course in nice weather. Yesterday's race was 42:05 on a hilly course and it was windy and COLD.

Can't wait to keep up the C25K and see how it goes. I am signing up for a virtual Leap Year Challenge this week .. 2k, 4k, 6k, 8k, and finishes on Leap Year with a 10k!

Good luck! Can't wait to hear more about your progress!!!

Honestly, I will probably walk most, if not all of it!! I just want to push myself a bit and see how far I get. There is a 5-mile race later in the year and would LOVE to be able to actually run it!!!

I did C25K! Proud to say that I can run 5 K in 33 minutes now and trying to get to under 30 minutes. I do mine all on the treadmill (at a 2.5% incline to try and "simulate" outdoor conditions). Unfortunately I'm not allowed running right now due to an injury which is bugging me since I just signed up for a 4.2 mile run in April!

I finished week 4 today! Woohoo! I ran outside twice this week as weather permitted and I definitely prefer outside to treadmill. It took me two weeks to do week 3 due to the blizzard. I'm getting excited that I may actually be able to do this!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
