Lactose intolerance post-op

Recommended Posts

I discovered a few hours ago that I'm now lactose intolerant. It was pretty amazing actually because from the time I had the milk to when I realized I had to go, I'm not sure 15 minutes passed. That's gotta be a record for "food" to pass through me. I say food because I was bad today (day 6 post-op) and tried to eat eggs. Apparently I don't like those anymore. They hurt on their way to my mini-tummy but I blame the healing of the hiatal hernia.

Anyway, has anyone else experienced this? Post-op lactose intolerance..

Thank you SO much! I was beginning to worry because no one had responded saying yes. I'll try fairway.. pretty sure I've seen that in Publix. I'll pass on the egg beaters though. I read the ingredients lossy once and I can't bring myself to try them.

I was sleeved 13 oct 2014.. I became lactose, meat and corn intolerant for the first 6 months after surgery. I can now still not eat corn or anything made out of corn.. But im ok with that ???? everything is all good with meat and dairy ????

I was lactose intolerant until 3 months out. But only like straight milk, yogurt, and premier shakes. I can consume them now with no issues. I never had a problem with cheese though.. which was odd. I did drink lactaid during my lactose intolerance stage.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
