I was told to wait a year. So far, i've been compliant with that

I'm guessing some docs say to wait a year because of the fear of cross addiction. I'm guessing once your stomach is healed, it's probably not going to have vastly different effects at six months as it does at 18 months.

I have drank white wine and had a couple of beers. I drink VERY slow, especially with the beer (Miller Lite). I am a couple months post op and have only had drinks recently because of the holidays.

I did fine. Beer sat a bit heavy and it took about a hour to drink one, but I didn't have any problems from it. I did catch a buzz quicker, but it didn't last long. I had no problem with a sweet, white wine either.

I have been able to drink most everything from Martinis to Margaritas and all the holiday specialty drinks. I am careful to "nurse" the drink along over the course of an hour or so... but I have been absolutely fine. No buzz or drunken feeling when the intake is slow. When I consumed something faster - it made me feel nauseated/hungover a little. So I just pace myself at a social event or when I pour a glass of wine.

Have fun and party on!

I have tried it all. Fireball scorched my pouch like no other. I get drunk INSTANTLY but I am stone sober within 30 minutes. I prefer to pop pills. Less calories!!

Like 3 months out lol

I never was a rule follower

I am 3 years out. I can't do beer.

#1 the fuzzy stuff makes me uncomfortable

#2 the beer foam is even worse

#3 I feel like I ate a meal 5 sips in

#4 it takes so long to drink it gets hot

#5 shots have less calories and work faster

I had bypass. When I drink, it's a very quick path from fine to drunk off my butt! I sober up pretty quick and haven't experienced a hang over. It's actually not that fun trying to keep a buzz going without getting too drunk...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
