Does my body has its own goal?

Recommended Posts

So I'm 5'7 and started out at 278lbs. Within 8 months after surgery I hit 175lbs. My personal goal is 160-165. I am now 10 months post op and I have toggled between 175-177. I wonder if my body has decided this is it. Or can I continue to push the envelope. I go to the gym everyday. My eating is fairly good but it could be better, however once I see I hit 177 I get back on track to go back down. Even when I was doing perfectly for weeks it seemed like I could not get below 175. Coworkers and friends, who don't know I had the surgery, tell me all the time that I look so small and should stop losing weight. But I feel I still have 10 to 15 pounds in me before goal.

Thoughts?

Our bodies definitely have set points where they LIKE to stick for a good long while. But just because they LIKE to stick there, doesn't necessarily mean that they SHOULD. Are you happy and healthy at your current weight? What be your reasoning behind trying to go lower?

I'm certainly healthy at this weight. Two reasons that I would like to go lower is I still have fat around my stomach and thighs that I would like gone. The second reason is I want plastics later next year so I would like to get lower for optimum skin removal results.

The last time I trusted my body I ballooned to 264 pounds. I've decided that my brain and my will needs to set the goal, because I obviously can't trust my body to do it correctly.

Yeah I'm still pushing forward in hopes to lose the extra 10-15 pounds but my body is definitely not making it easy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
