Right there with you. It's part of the process. It will stop. It sucks though.

Very, very temporary. Just remember a few months of hair loss is just a tiny part of the rest of your life.

Keep up with your Protein and Vitamins and might look into taking Biotin (if your current Vitamin doesn't contain it) to help with the Hair loss.< /p>

I already have a bald spot on top of my head before surgery. I'm looking into wigs when my hair loss starts. Wigs could be fun! Different colors and styles depending on your mood!

Stressing about it will only increase what you lose. The body is stressed out and the hair is going to fall. Biotin 10,000 mcg a day. I bought http://www.puritan.com/puritans-pride-brand-0102/healthy-hair-formula-with-biotin-10000-mcg-050951?scid=34618 and it is super low priced and quality stuff.

One of the seminars I went to the speaker said she was so difficient that she had a iron/protein drip after she had a blood test and it was determined that she was not getting enough Protein ....see your doctor have them do a blood test get a drip ...you are deficient.

It's part of the process for many of us unfortunately.

The best thing you can do is focus on getting in all of your Protein and Water and taking all of your Vitamins and supplements.

You could also talk to your hairdresser about a new cut or style to help you through this time.

I just chopped my hair again (layered it) to offset the thinning. It seems to have slowed (7months post) in the last month (so has the weight loss, unfortunately). I was losing 10-12 a month now its MAYBE half of that :( but that's okay - I am still "working it".

YLLUZ it's happening to me too....I was sleeved the same day as you and it started coming out in October. It's totally thinned in the front...I'm trying to get all my Protein in and ride it out! Hopefully it stops soon. I feel your pain!

There is hope! I already had fine, thin hair and lost a ton. I'm 13+ months out and all my new growth is about 4 inches long. It looked hilarious so my sister blended it all in. I am keeping it short until my new growth catches up.

I haven't had surgery yet, but when I first started rapidly gaining weight a few years back I had some rough hair loss. I had great success tackling it with this product, phytocane, that they sell at sephora. Plus it smells great. After one cycle of use my hair stylist and I started to see all the baby hairs popping up and filling in.

I did two full cycles and one maintenance cycle. You rub it onto your scalp after showering and before styling.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
