Combining protein

Recommended Posts

@@TinyTink - Isn't that an interesting fact? I too was told this by my NUT (asked her the exact same question you posted) but there are so many products such as Protein shots where people think they can get all their Protein in at one shot. Weird that isn't something that is more strongly promoted (that we can't absorb more than 25g I mean).

I'm just thinking of all the wasted Protein in the days when I'd eat a slab of ribs....or a cheeseburger.....or lots of Cookies with milk! :)

I kinda look at it in a different way. Shove it however much you can. 25, 25, 45, . I try to get as much Protein as I can. You may eat or drink that 25 grams thinking that isthe limit, but there is no way to be certain the body is going to process all of that Protein. You may only absorb half of it and pass the rest.

So why miss out on any opportunity. I eat or drink as much as I can comfortably consume and let my body sort out what it can handle. ;)

@@Recycled - I understand your thinking and I can't say that I limit my Protein to only 25g per hour. (For example, Premier Protein shakes are 30g and easily drank in less than an hour.) The only issue is for those early out and maybe only aiming for 60g Protein in the first place and then assuming a 40g Protein Drink in the morning or a 40g protein shot gets them 2/3rds of the way done for the day. If we aren't consuming enough protein, then it could really cause a problem. If we are getting 80g or more in total for the day, then we might be ok.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
