I begin in 2 days. Not looking forward to 6-8 weeks without real food. But I believe it'll be worth it in the end.

I met with the dietician and went over all his required steps. It looks hard :/ but certainly doable.

2 weeks of liquid is what I have to focus on right now.

it's going to be hard but after surgery it'll probably be easier because we won't want to hurt our new stomach, and ugh try to eat Jello at least Jello it's good I'm require to do two days of liquid starting Tuesday

Okay, I'm disregarding everyone's response on here (because I didn't read them) and I'm honestly going to tell you the truth!

Girl... I cheated about 5 times during the two week pre-op diet and I was so frightened that I wouldn't be able to proceed with my surgery as scheduled. Now, I wasn't splurging and cheating all day. It would literally be a taste of 3 fries, or a bite of Pasta, or a chicken sandwich. So, on the morning of my surgery I asked a nurse about my cheating and I was surprised when she said "as long as you didn't eat anything before midnight you're fine".

I later found out she went to ask my surgeon about this question (which I was trying to keep from him -.- )

Lol, but all was well! All IS well. Continue dieting and making better choices. Do not beat yourself up if you slip up! Pace yourself, commend yourself and be your number one supporter when it comes to this experience.

Congrats on everything and I wish you well with your new journey! ????

YES!!!! I cheated. More than once. More than twice. It was at night, late. I think overall I did really well.

I really dreaded it. I was afraid of feeling bad bad weak and having headaches. Thank goodness I didn't have to quit caffeine, just no sugar cream etc. I think what helped me the most is starting my variate iv Vitamins two weeks before my liquid pre op diet. I am very concerned about hair loss and feeling bad. I gotta tell ya, I only felt bad one day of the diet, day two. TODAY OS MY LAST DAY!!! Tomorrow is surgery. I made it!!! Almost anyway.

I'm on day 2. 1200 calories or less. 150 grams carbs. 40 grams of fat max. The creamy box Soups, V8 spicy, yogurt, Jello and the Protein Shakes are my main staples. Just make sure I have something every hour or 2. Good luck! I'm too much of a scardy cat to cheat.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
