I am 30 hours post op and so far everything is going spectacularly well. My only real pain is from the incision points. I've had some nausea but no vomiting and I've been up walking since last night. I don't expect to go through the whole healing process without complications, but for now it's been very nice to be moving right along.

You might be surprised, you could be one of the luckier ones whose healing process is easy.

Mine was aside from the pain and keeping it under control. It is for no one a picnic but some do come out more fortunate than others.

Cheers to you and a relatively easy recovery! Congrats!

I was the same way. I suppose it comes down to the old adage of prepare for the worst, but hope for the best. Good to hear all went so well in your case too. Congrats!

Congrats! What a relief, eh?

I'm 12 days post-op and honestly, I was expecting way worse than anything I've experienced. I'm extremely grateful that it's been this way. Now of only I could get my Protein all down for the day...

I have been one of the lucky ones. .I was super nauseated days 3 and 4 and by day 7 I was back at work.

No pain, no complications, no frothing, or vomiting at all.

I am 3 months post-op and feel completely normal.

I just don't eat as much!

I was pretty much the same way. Most of the pain was from the largest incision on the left side.

My only advice would be to focus on hydration once you're able to start getting the fluids down. I was feeling pretty good throughout all of the first week after surgery, but week 2, I let dehydration hit me because I really had no desire to get much down and that is a cruddy feeling.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
