Last Tuesday, November 3rd was my surgery. I had a removal hiatal hernia and a dilatation of the dysphasia too. I was super nervous before the surgery but my hubby was by my side taking care of me. The anesthesiologist was awesome, keeping asking me questions about my family and place until I dozed out. During recovery I was super sleepy, the surgeons and nurse trying to keep me awake but I was just too tired too open my eyes but I can heard them. Around 5pm they transferred me to intensive care since there were not rooms available. Poor hubby trying to talked to me but can't woke up. I remembered him touching my hair and my back so I can wake up. Around 7pm the nurse sat me down and told me that at 9:30pm I was going to walk. I didn't like the sitting position because I was so sleepy but I knew that was the procedure so I can recovered quickly. Around 9pm I woke up and felt better and asked the nurse that I was ready to walk. They were surprise how quickly I bounced back and I did four laps. That night I didn't sleep at all. In intensive care nurses needs to check on you and wake you up. Around 4 am I decided to walked again so I asked a nurse and we did five laps. I was happy my recovery was good and the pain was not bad. The took me to the swallowing test and the dr said it was beautiful! The second day was full of friends and dr checking on me, but still no room available until 7pm. Once the transferred me to the bariatric level. It was quiet but my gas pain level was up and I didn't have too much to sleep. Something new on the second day was my blood pressure was high. Never had problem before with my blood pressure. They gave me medication. The third day I was happy I went home to rest in my bed. Now my job is checking all my routines of Protein, medication, Vitamins and liquids for the next three weeks until I can progress to the next level. It's kind of difficult but I'm happy I survived the hospital time.

Hope you are healing nicely with relative ease and speed. I'm not too far out in front of you and yet I have a hard to remembering that first week. I think I have selected to forget it and is was not the easiest time.

Congrats!

Thanks! Yes the first week I was just trying to remember everything. Today is my second week and now I feeling more like myself. I can't wait this Thursday for my first check up and the advance in diet. I can't live with liquid for so long. Yesterday I was tempting with food so I decided to go early to bed and didn't go to the kitchen. I just want something to chew on.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
