I'm pre-op, but curious as to what I'll do post-op if I get sick? I'm currently down with a cold and all I can do is eat crackers, sip ginger ale, and blow my nose. I'm sitting around thinking after surgery (January) I won't be allowed crackers or soda, so what do we do?

I apologize if I sound stupid, especially if I'm looking over something obvious but I'm truly curious (and very tired).

Crackers and ginger ale sounds more like morning sickness relief to me. I lean toward some hot Soup for a cold.

I'm definitely not pregnant lol I just had my EGD Friday and it requires a urine test to check. I can't keep anything down. Not even Soup.

I do ginger ale or more likely 7up when sick, well prior to surgery. After? Well, chicken Soup is good for the head cold. Just like everything else, you have to adjust it. I suppose you COULD still do crackers after your all healed up, but it's up to you if the empty calories are worth it. Sometimes you just need that comfort food.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
