Who wants to do a 5 day liquid diet with me for "fun"?! It will keep you from eating candy on Halloween! I promise I won't cheat! I feel like I've been eating too much "junk" lately and the liquid diet helps me kick that sugar craving. Last time I did 5 days of shakes I didn't want any sugar for weeks. We can do update pictures and it will make food planning super easy!!! My family are complete party poopers and won't do it with me. I did it by myself before so I'm sure I can do it again I just thought it might be fun to do it together.....as fun as self torture can be anyway. I'm going to get my shakes tomorrow and get this party started.

Day 4 is in the bag! This has been much easier than I anticipated. Probably because I already have little appetite. One thing it has helped to point out is definitively identifying head hunger.

One more day!

I had a horrible eating day and want to get back on track so I'm in to start this challenge tomorrow. I was going to start out with 3 days and then see if I want to do the full 5.

Just saw this -- I've been debating a 5-day challenge. I will take the leap and do it. Like you said, we did it for two weeks, so 5 days should be a piece of cake :)

I'll be on my own but am committing here and now.

Let us know your results! You are soooo close to goal!

I made it - just one more shake and 32 oz. of water to get down before 8 pm (5 hours) tonight and I'll call it a success. I know I've lost at least a couple pounds, so I'm thrilled. I "officially" weigh myself Saturday morning. Might do this again next week, starting Monday. Certainly takes the thinking out of eating and food preparation. ;-)

ETA: Made it! Five days done. Can't wait for our weekly breakfast out tomorrow. Imagine I'll be able to eat even less than usual, but hope it tastes divine. :)

I'm still doing shakes and then a protein dinner. My throat has been hurting a bit so I may just do shakes tomorrow because of that.

I'm going to start tomorrow. How's everyone's progress who started with original post?

I have lost a total of 6 pounds since my "reset". I'm really happy I know about this for future stalls! So want to reach my goal by my surgiversary in April!

That's great!!! What does your typical day look like liquid wise while on liquids only?

I have 3 Premier Protein shakes. one for Breakfast, one for lunch, one for dinner. If I get hungry between meals, I will have broth or sf Popsicle. I drink lots of Water, as well. It's the preop liquid diet that I followed. Except in preop I was supposed to have 4 shakes, but I worried that 120 gms of Protein might be too much.

I had three Premier Protein shakes (breakfast, lunch, dinner) daily. If I was hungry or wanted something savory I'd make broth from a bullion cube (beef or chicken), but limited those to twice a day at most due to the sodium content. I liked to have hot tea sometimes. And 64 oz. of Water above and beyond the water with the broth/shakes/tea.

So I haven't stuck completely to the liquid diet. I have been doing liquids during the day, then have a thick soup with protein in it for dinner. Lost 4 1/2 lbs this past week...hoping after thanksgiving I can stick to strictly liquids for a few days...not having something to chew is difficult!! Lol

I didn't stick to this challenge last time but due to the holidays I've been really going at the carbs so I'm going to give it another shot. I'm aiming for 4 days of just shakes. We'll see how it goes....

It seems to me that any dramatic diet like the 5-day reset diet (above) triggers our bodies to use up the glycogen we've stored in our livers, which would also trigger our bodies to shed the 7-8 pounds of Water needed to store that glycogen.

But maybe that doesn't happen to sleeved patients ... ?

If you're willing to share, I'd love to hear how those who did this reset diet reacted (in terms of the scale and your appetites) after you went back to your regular weight-loss eating regimens.

Thanks in advance.
