I'm not a bypass patient but eating yucca would be like eating mashed potatoes. They are pretty starchy with little to no Protein.

What do your post-op instructions say about potatoes?

I did not know what Yucca was, so thank you to the previous poster! Potatoes are not a great source of Protein, but they were a favorite "go-to" of mine when I was in that stage. It was one of the few things I could get when my family and I went out to eat. So, I would say short term to help you get through the stages yes, but not long term just because there have little to no nutritional value.

I ???? yucca. I won't eat a whole lot of it. But I do have it. With bacalao. Or I even have the yucca thai drinks.

My nut said I could eat mashed potatoes while advancing my diet. I definitely had some starchy things during the mushy phase, but the quantities were not very large. I mainly has either sweet or regular potatoes mashed. Now I am trying to limit carbs. High Protein foods really help control my awakening appetite better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
