Losing weight, tummy staying same

Recommended Posts

I am a slow loser, about 2 a week, but only 3 in the past 3 weeks. I lost 4 inches off my waist the first month. I have lost 15 lbs in past 2 months but not only have i not lost anything off my tummy, the last measurement showed a gain. I carry most of my weight in my middle so i do not know what is happening.

You can't really control where your body sheds its fat from. It's not a matter of doing something right or wrong. It just comes off where it wants to, which is rarely where you'd prefer.

Only thing really you can do to try and help move along the weight loss near the tummy area is to do exercises that work on your core section like sit ups, crunches, etc. But like someone else said, where you are not seeing the loss in your stomach area, you are loosing it in other areas. I lost a lot of my weight in my face, legs and chest area before the belly started to really go down. Now that I am working out more consistently I'm seeing more and more of the body changes overall.

My doctor said you gain from the bottom up and lose from the top down. It sort of fits how I am losing. My face, arms, back, and boobs are getting smaller. I don't see a difference in my tummy but my hubby said that it is smaller along with my butt. I know that doesn't help much but like the other posters have said you really can't help where you lose it.

I have always (still do) lose weight in my butt, legs and face first. My waist and arms are the last to go. Right now my butt and legs are a size 10 but my waist is a 12/14. So now all of my pants look horrible and baggy.

This probably isn't a comfort, but I have lost all of my excess weight and still have belly fat. My surgeon told me it probably won't go away without actually having it removed. The more weight you carried in your belly pre-surgery, the more skin and trapped fat you will have even after you have lost all your excess weight. It sucks, but its just the way it is. :(

On the bright side, I might still have a bunch of loose skin and trapped fat, but I wear a size 8 jeans, which is smaller than most of my "naturally thin" friends! Also, it may look larger to you than it actually is. I'll lay down at night and see my skin spread and think about how much fat I have left, but then I look in the mirror after a shower and am sometimes shocked at how thin I am under all that!

Lastly, make sure you are pooping regularly. Some of your belly staying the same might be due to bloat.

I always had a big booty, big boons, and a big stomach. Well the first things to go were my butt and boons. Hey, I wanted to keep those. I'm starting to lose the stomach little by little. Keep it up it will happen. Especially in places you don't want to.

Sorry typo big boobs

I also carry alot of weight in my stomach. While it has gone down it is still alot theire. I am working out daily and have met with a personal trainer. I was told that sometimes your stomach is the last thing to lose. You need to build up muscle to help burn the fat from your stomach.

I have the same problem that my stomach and boobs wears a size 18 and the rest of me could probably fit a 14/16.

I have faith that continuing to follow plan will get me to goal and that this stomach will have no choice but to be gone.

Try tennis, it is excellent. Works ever part of your body. I can't work out a lot because I got injured last February had 2 knee surgeries and will have to have a knee replacement in the future. In 2012, I weighed 260 started playing tennis and in 4 short months down to 155 no lie. Played everyday. I loved it. Works all your body

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
