UC Weight Loss surgeon question

Recommended Posts

Who has gone to UC Weight Loss and used Dr. Thompson? I wanted to go with Dr. Watkins but with his wait list there was a chance I wouldn't have the surgery until after the beginning of the year. I was trying to get the surgery before the beginning of the year since I have already reached my deductible. Please let me know your thoughts on Dr. Thompson if you have used him. I really liked him and was happy to hear he hasn't had any leaks yet!

I have Dr. Thompson too. My surgery is not until next year so I can't comment on what kind of work he does. I work for UC and know he has a good reputation. There's two others on here I chat with who will have Dr. Thompson too. Did you have to wait 6 months?

@@Bloomer723 I really liked him when I had my initial appointment. I am glad to hear he has a good reputation. :) It's always so scary when you have surgery of any kind, so it's nice to hear good things about your doctor.

No, I was lucky enough that my insurance just required a unsupervised 6 month diet within the past two years. I did that, I had my first appointment on 9/16/15 stated that I wanted to try to have the surgery before the end of the year. They ended up working with me to get all of my appointments needed for insurance done within a week and a half. They submitted to insurance on 9/28/15 and I received a phone call phone my insurance stated that I was approved on 10/9/15. I am very blessed! Having it done this year will save me over $2,000! I will have to go through the holiday's unable to enjoy in the food, but getting healthy is way more important to me!

That's great! I'm hoping with our insurance open enrollment coming up that UHC will have dropped their 6 month requirements like some other insurances have. If not I have to wait until February. I have all my requirements done, just meetings with Ivan until February.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
