Hitting a wall

Recommended Posts

So I was doing really good up until seven weeks ago. Following SugarBusters diet, getting my daily Protein amounts, drinking my fluids, etc...all along losing pounds every month. I was feeling really good about myself too...then the scale went the wrong way.???? Dang it!! I actually called before my scheduled monthly weigh-in and discussed how disgusted ???? I was with everything. I was told that I wasn't taking in enough calories per day and maybe my body was going into starvation mode. Oh goody! ????. So now I am still not seeing a positive change again and am really ready for a flippin' fill. The nurse didn't recommend one last time because they feel that I am in the "green" zone because of my appetite between meals. Of course I feel the appetite correlates to my protein intake, but the nurse disagrees.

So I guess I am looking for advice/opinions/thoughts from fellow bandsters. Really anything would be great guys.

@@vwdriver95 Let me start by asking you if you have Fluid in your band currently, and if so what fill level you might be at in what size band?

If you are not eating enough and you are going 4 hours or more between meals I can understand where the nurse is coming from in telling you a fill is not what is needed.

Your body is adjusting to all of the changes you have made and are continuing to make. shake it up a bit. If your doing the same things and they are no longer working mix it up and give your body a shock and jump start it again. If your not getting in any exercise start a walking program. If your already walking try bike riding, or doing a little "sprint" for a few seconds/minutes and then walk again.

If your eating the same diet shake it up. If your eating a consistent number of calories, change it up. Add a few more, give your body something to work with. Don't let it think your dying and there for need to hold onto every single thing you consume. Eventually your body will let go and start to burn that fat for fuel but a good way to get things moving is to shake it up.

Our muscles have memory and after a while our bodies become complacent as we do and to keep it fresh we need to keep on our toes. This weight loss journey is not as easy or as pleasant as it was when we were gaining weight....it's darn hard work :)

Don't give up....shake it up and make it work for you. So far your doing great!!! Slow and steady wins the race :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
