Protein drink issues

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for surgery on November 2. I am really struggling to find a Protein Drink that my stomach will tolerate. I've tried Syntrax, premier, and another I can't remember right now. I get really bad stomach cramps almost immediately after drinking. Any advice is appreciated.

I had surgery on 9-3. It's almost hard to say what to do, because after surgery your sense of taste is off. I liked Premier Protein shakes before surgery, but now I have a hard time getting them down. I've tried a lot of different types of Protein, they all make me slightly nauseous. Just drink slowly. You could try the powders, but for me, they were worse.

Keep trying different kinds until you find one that works. Also check out kefir drinks and protein waters like the Isopure nocarb as alternatives.

Are you allergic to Soy or whey? It sounds like a intolerance to something. You may want to ask your nut or Doctor what they recommend to the patients with allergies.

FYI if it turns out to be an allergy, check out some of the vegan Protein alternatives. Bob's Red Mill has just come out with a collection of vegan powders that have 20gms of protein. It's not as high as the traditional powders and drinks, but it may help get you through the early liquid stages. I plan to try them as I would like to cut down on the amount of dairy I consume.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
