I am almost a year out from my RNY bypass and I have done very well and have not had any complications. My husband and I have been talking about maybe trying to get pregnant in a couple of months. I go see my obgyn next month and I don't know what questions to ask. Does anyone have any advise/insight that has gotten pregnant after WLS?

When my husband and I first started trying to conceive, I spoke to my OBGYN and he told me that there is not much to be concerned about after WLS. Obviously getting really good nutrition and taking extra prenatal Vitamins are important and I would definitely discuss those topics. He told me the main thing he wants to avoid is for me to freak out because I will gain a little weight.

Thanks! Did you talk to your surgeon also or just your OB Dr?

Really don't have anyone to talk to about this. No one at my support group has gotten pregnant that I know of. And this would be our first time to try at all so everything is running through my mind.

I just spoke with my OBGYN. My surgeon is in a different city now. I should probably talk with a bariatric surgeon in town though...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
