Multi chewable vitamin

Recommended Posts

chewable Multivitamins stink! So, I thought I was clever when I purchased a bottle of liquid Multivitamin. ...holy moly! I was waaaaaay wrong! I didn't get sick, but I wanted to. The blood rushed to my face and my neck and face got itchy!

I honestly don't want to continue putting things in my mouth that aren't a necessary. ...that's kind of, sort of why I had my surgery in the first place! ;) I ordered the multivitamin transdermal Patches last night and look forward to getting them on Monday. One thing that I don't have to worry about taking that I KNOW is going to make me feel blah!

If you have a target near you I found this new brand called oily and its a woman's complete Gummy and they taste really good. I took them to my NUT and she said they were fine!

Oh geez! Watch out for the Iron supplements! Constipation is such an issue, and iron makes it worse!

Low Iron will make you anemic and it will cause hair loss. By the time you find out, its already too late, so don't ignore your Iron. I know for a fact i can't eat enough in a day to get my iron and other Vitamins in without a supplement.

I've tried a few different chewables.< /p>

Some taste better than others, but none have been objectionable.

FWIW, I could crunch on Flinstones and be content.

I like the Bariatric Support from Twinlab multi Vitamin. Not crazy about the Iron or Calcium though.

Go to Puritan.com I've found a lot of chewables there and they aren't expensive. I got the Calcium tablets that taste like coffee, the fruity Vitamin D and the dissolvable Biotin...other than that I'm taking two Flinstones a day.

@@OutsideMatchInside I also take the BariActiv chewables but cannot stand the Calcium pills AT ALL. Are you able to chew them ok or are you doing anything special with them?

My NUT recommended letting them dissolve in Water and then taking them (and even suggested adding a Crystal Light in with the Water to mask the flavor) but even the thought of that makes me nauseous.

They are huge horse pills! They break up/apart easy. So I just hold them in my mouth and drink Water, and they melt away pretty fast, and I don't taste that much of them. The Iron pills are what annoy me, they are too sweet. The multi is the best of the bunch.

While these pills are annoying, the Bariactiv pills have the lowest calories and carbs of any chewables I have looked at and they are practitioner grade. So even for their annoyance, they are very good quality.

I have tried 3-4 Vitamins as my surgeon and nut says we have to take huge amounts for life. Vitamins are the only thing that has caused vomiting. I just got vitamin patches and so far no problems - I assume they are working. I have shipped back one type, going to try selling a non opened bottle and another I will take back to the store.

So, I just received the call regarding my 6 week labs. All levels are great, so it seems like the multivitamin transdermal patch works as well as they claim!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
