Taking time off work

Recommended Posts

My Dr told me average is 2-3 weeks. Time depends on how you feel and how active your job is. I ended up taking 3 weeks off due to the fact that I am on Protein and Clear liquids only for 17 days. I have just finished my 2nd week and am beyond ready to go back to work atleast part time.

what I did was askeasked for enough time off to cover me if I needed it and will go back sooner if I get released from my surgeon . Easier to go back early than ask for more time off at the last min if u need more time.

I scheduled two weeks off from work and ended up going back ten days after surgery. I could have gone back after a week but I wanted to make completely sure I was ready.

Everyone is different. After 4 days post-op, I wasn't in a ton of pain, I was getting in my fluids, my Proteins and didn't have any gas, stomach issues or Constipation. In fact I never really felt nauseous or too uncomfortable from gas. By day five I was able to get through an entire day without needing a nap.

While I will admit my first week back after surgery was a little rough due to Vitamin schedules, Fluid intake, head hunger and yucky Protein shakes; I don't regret going back less than two weeks post-op.

I'm only taking 1.5wks off, going back Monday. I didn't have any nausea or incisional pain. I'm sure I'll be tired but I'll deal with it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
