I'm 30, 5ft. 4in., SW 307, CW 267. I had diabetes type 2, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, aches, pcos. I say had because my diabetes is now "controlled", hbp is down and aches are mostly gone. I am ready to do this! I can't wait to read everyone's success stories! Good luck guys ????

I am 62 yrs, height 5 feet 6, weight 230, BMI just over 35. Have been in low carb diet for ten days, start pre op diet 10/19, surgery 11/2 with Ariel Ortiz in Tijuana. Went for a visit and consult several weeks ago and was satisfied by what I saw and heard. Dr. Ortiz spent 30 minutes with us and also met with nutritionist and internal med physician. Nervous anyway!

NMGAZ,

I am excited for u, I wish I was brave enough and had a friend to go to mexico since I am a self pay and it is costing me a small fortune, I am 54 , 200 lbs and only 4ft 11. My date is Nov 10 also with a hiatal hernia repair which I see ablot of people have. I wonder if weight is the culprit for hernia? Any way best of luck and was happy to read I am not the only person over 50 who wants this.

Munc0911 - while visiting the clinc I met two women who had travelled there alone for surgery the next day. I guess this is not unusual, and the driver brings patients from the San Diego Airport and transports between clinic and Marriott. Hotel offers appropriate foods for surgical patients and is accustomed to their stays.

I was informed yesterday that my insurance was approved for 11/19. I was a little bit scared after I got the call from my doctors office to schedule surgery and my final pre-op and all post-op appointments along with pre-surgery labs and X-rays but I am keeping my eye on the prize and looking forward to living a healthier life.

I still can't settle on if I'm excited or terrified! :) Eye on the prize for sure. Good luck and congrats getting your date!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
