Well it turns out my 3rd week stall was just the beginning I am losing very slowly maybe if lucky 2lb a week. While any loss is ok I could lose that just doing weight watchers and have lost more weekly doing Optifast. I guess I was hoping for a couple of months of 3-5lb weekly loses minus the notorious 3rd week stall before settling into a slower pace. But looks like I am firmly in the slow losers club from week 2 onwards.

I am trying to be accepting of this any fellow slow losers want to give me a pep talk or new slow losers want a whine like me lol?? :)

I'm pretty happy with my 2 to 4 lbs loss per week. I mean I'm not having to upgrade my wardrobe as fast and I feel it's a more natural loss. When I get on the scale and it is down, that is a win in my book!

I was expecting bigger losses initially too. But I'm happy with consistent losses, for a long time pre op I couldn't get past the lose two gain 1.5.

My entire weight loss for week 4-7 was 2 pounds! Been steadily losing 3-4 week after week 7

The weight loss does seem to fluctuate and just because it is 2 pounds now doesn't mean it won't be different some weeks. Yeah maybe you could have lost 2 pounds a week at Weight Watchers but did you?

Hang in there and the weight loss will come. Have faith in your plan and keep on going! You've got this!

Thats me right now I'm only 5 weeks out and have began a slow weight loss.. I call it a stall because I've been the same for about a week now this will be the second. I'm just going to start a new exercise plan. Ugh

VSG 8/17...........Feeling very discouraged as well. 9.4 lbs lost ............hhhhhhkjkkkkk............i get what the above reply said about ......i could have done this at WW. My husband was sleeved in Feb. and has lost 100 lbs. I was lapband to sleeve. They told me it would be slow, but this is rediculous. I am doing everything they told me and I am able to get in all Protein and Water and exercise regularly. Walked for 2 days in Disney this week........to the point of blisters.............and only a .4 loss..........just not fair...Granted i'm almost 60 yrs. old.........but what the heck......Done ranting. thank you for listening.

I think we all need to be a bit patient, I think it will happen with time. Havn't lost a pound since week two and today I am at week four. I tell myself that if others have walked this road before and they say it's so then I should believe it's so and that I'll move shortly.

To the lady who is almost 60. I salute you and your efforts. Give it time I am sure it will happen for you, as it did for your husband .

Oooooo can I join your club?? I am three months post op and since my surgery date I have lost 39 pounds. So that is about 2.5 pounds a week and honestly I lost 7 the first week and most weeks it is just 1 pound a week. I'm not dissatisfied at all! I could have never lost 51 pounds on my own and every pound that comes off, I know is staying gone. Heck, the knowledge I have gained about my body and nutrition has been worth it.

Sleeved 8/10 lost 20 the first 3 weeks And since then has been so slow, I was 256 and now today I weighed 228 so 8 pounds in the last three weeks I struggle with it because I am also still very sore so I get little exercise in because 2 weeks ago I over did it (vaccumed out my car) and have been in pain since, I am hoping once I can workout more that I will be able to lose more but until then I will join the club

I am so glad I "happened" upon this post. I am at two months, one week...and have had a 54 lb lost counting the 20 pre-op so 34 since surgery. I too was expecting TONS of weight coming off since I had 200 to lose. I was sitting here thinking, at this rate it's going to take me 20 years (ok a little exaggerated). I am trying very hard to remind myself not everyone is the same...

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
