Under 35 BMI surgeon?

Recommended Posts

Puget Sound Surgical Center in WA state does. My surgeon was Dr. Billings and I highly recommend him. Great place and I was self pay as well. I used my health saving plan so tax free money. They require a BMI of 30 or higher.

If you are willing to travel out of country, you can find a lot of surgeons who will do VSG on patients with a lower BMI and you'll probably save a lot of money too!

I had a great experience with my VSG in Tijuana.

Dr. Hidalgo in Puerto vallarta Mexico did mine in July. My BMI was 30 when I started my week long pre op diet so a little under for my actual surgery. I have been very happy with my surgeon, my easy recovery and my great results (my bmi is now at 23.5 "normal"!!)

I'm new here. Sorry for the duplicate????. I'm sooo glad you posted. I'm having the surgery next month and my BMI is 30. I've been searching the Internet for months trying to find someone to talk to that started with a BMI of 30.

My family has threaded my life if I go to Mexico.

I'm going to assume you meant "threatened"? Anyway, this is a decision you have to make for yourself. Whether to have surgery, where to have it, and with which surgeon. You shouldn't let other people influence your decision. Thousands upon thousands of people have successful surgeries in Mexico every year. I've been to Mexico for surgery twice (once for plastics and once for VSG) and had incredibly positive experiences both times. All you can do is do the research, talk to past patients, and make the best decision for YOU, no one else.

No worries. I'm no expert as I'm only 10 weeks out but I'd be happy to share my story so far, if you like.

I'm so happy I didn't wait til my weight got even more out of hand before getting this surgery. The weight was significantly impacting my life and my self esteem but now I am free from that burden.

Send me a message and we can talk more if you are interested.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
