Let's do it fly-high and hold each other accountable. Do you have a current fitness/workout routine in place? Do you meal prep?

Yesterday I had my one year post op appointment. I gained six pounds since my six month post op visit. My surgeon was great about it. He told me what to do to jump back into the game and continue losing weight. I will begin that on Monday. It's a bit hectic with guests over this weekend. He told me I look amazing. I have lost 77 pounds already since my journey began. I will hit this full force. I want to lose another 40 pounds. I know I got this. Thank you so much for all the support from this group.

Thank you so very much amesleeved

I have been working out down to 3 days per week, 30 min weight, 25 min aerobics.

No meal prep, what worked has been consistently doing Protein power twice daily and meal once or twice a day with chicken or beef. Snacks were cheese and nuts.

Problem in last 6 weeks has been laziness eating chips and candy from time to time and problem besides the obvious is that unlike chicken and beef meals that keep you full and content for hours, chips and such get you hungry in an hour and then you go to eat in an hour instead of 3 to 4 hours which then really takes up bad calories and such...

I think the key is to just refocus as I was 6 months ago....

I wish there was a way to have had someone record my mood and determination from 11 months ago and have that reprogrammed into my brain so that I could capture that sense of drive and determination and move forward with that same feeling of urgency.

I would pay for that!

Sounds good fly-high. I'm looking to switch up my workout routine based on what my body needs and it needs TONING. Cardio helped me lose the 129 pounds but need to build muscle. I have already booked a adominoplasty (scheduled for 10/2017) that's when I'll have enough vacation time from work and I'm on a payment plan to prepay for the procedure. Because I'm 27 I thought if I exfoliate, moisturize, and wrap that i wouldn't have any lose skin but that's definitely not the case. I recently started running, I'm doing a 5K in October and the skin from my stomach is a problem.

I'm having a really hard time lately. I can see myself falling back into old habits and can't seem to find my way out of it. I've attempted the 5 day pouch test/reset and failed miserably. I REALLY need to get my mind right and refocus on staying healthy. Anyone else been here? it's really so so so so true....our mind is our biggest asset and biggest hurdle all in one.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
