Looking for those who had sleeve in August 2015

Recommended Posts

I had my sleeve done on 8/3 also. Doing good so far, thought I might have lost more weight by now, but I will take what I am given. Pre-op had lost 15 pounds, post op have lost 24 pounds. So all together its been a weight loss of 39 pounds since May, and since April: 47 pounds, since back then I was 273 and now I am at 226. Eating regular textured foods now, but ofcourse measured, cannot have more than 4oz of food at any one time; if I do over do it I end up having to throw up some. Just eating in moderation but worried about overall Protein intake since it is not at 60-80g daily yet. Will continue to take Protein Shakes for this lack of intake. Also, not taking in 64oz of Fluid, I find this hard to do since plain Water makes me somewhat nauseous. But overall, doing ok. I thank you for reading and thank you in advance for any responses to this post.

@@Awjones28, you re doing great a loss of 25 pounds is a lot considering its only been since the end of August that you have been sleeved. As for feeling tired, that will go away just make sure you take all your Vitamins. Congrats on your success, wishing you more!

@@cbruce125 you will lose more weight, dont worry. I have had stalls since my surgery on 8/3. Then in the last two days lost 4 pounds, so suddenly...I am not at a gym , I only take neighborhood walks and hope to join a gym soon, but for the time being I am just eating at the regular texture stage and meauring all my meals. Not all of which consists of diet food but definitely all in moderation.

@@Mrswrath you can add some fruit to your smoothie. You should be getting in at least 800 cals if you are working out that much. Or even a few bites of well cooked veggies at supper. You are working out a lot....you need to add food. I cant get my fluids in. Ended up in emerg last week from dehydration.

All the Protein Shakes that I consumed pre-surgery are just too dang sweet for me post-surgery! So I have been drinking Isopure. Do any of you have any other Protein recommendations?

Ugh new to this reply business - anyways. I have struggled since my surgery to find a Protein Shake I could stomach- tried adding a banana to one this am, after the gym. Choking it down now.

Mrswrath, I could not stomach the Protein Drinks either. I ordered GENEPRO on of Amazon, it is supposed to be odorless and tasteless, and it is for the most part. I mix it with swiss miss sugar free hot cocoa and it is definetely easier to get down. in phase 3 I got to start making it with skim milk instead of Water, even better!

Omg. Im down 28 pounds and still in same size pants. Tops a bit loose but what the hell? It's weird and frustrating. Maybe I need a new scale. People say my face is smaller.....did I really have 28 pounds on my face? ☺☺☺☺☺

Lealor - I doubt very much you had 28lbs in your face! I notice that the bigger we are, the more weight it takes to go down one size. I was 295 and was in a 22W, I've lost 67lbs and I'm in an 18. I think once you get down to size 12, 10, 8 etc. it's a 10-15lb loss between sizes. It took about 40lbs before anyone started to notice my weight loss. Don't get discouraged...28lbs is amazing!

Mrswrath did your NUT recommend putting banana in your Protein shake? My NUT told me to stay away from banana's because they are very high in carbohydrates. You could always try adding unflavored Protein powder to chocolate milk, cocoa or thick Soups for extra Protein.< /p>

I only tried once with a banana in it- not a fan of the taste of bananas anymore. My dr. Said we could do mashed bananas starting stage 2. This week I am at a weight loss stall????????.

Not sure if it is because I have upped my workouts this week to 2 a day?

I see my dr end of next week- do hopefully I start losing again

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
