So today was my last appt with mental health, she gave me the clearance as I lost the 10 pounds needed (how I did that I'll never know) also she was telling me to save my money now cause girls my age (27) wanna get there boobs down cause of the sagging, she also said to be very afraid of saggy skin. I know why I want this , I know I wanna be healthy have more energy look amazing for my wedding next year and carry a baby (I have pcos) but from one point of view I'm on board ready for surgery tomorrow but the other half of me is like this 2 week liquid diet will suck, I'll be in so much pain, I'll have saggy boobs and skin I'll never be able to eat again

Maybe I'm just freaking out cause surgery is next month? No mean comments please! :)

Oh yeah, everyone freaks out just before surgery. As well they should. You are making permanent changes to your body. I think the ladies can explain this better than I, hold off on getting the girls raised until your child arrives.

Hi, first of all, congratulations on your decision to change your life and take control. :)

I'm still new to this as I had my surgery just 3 weeks ago, so maybe you will benefit more from someone who is more experienced. Still, I can say that the pre-op diet wasn't so bad for me. The first 2 days were tough, and then it all became easier, I didn't feel that much hunger (I did crave something to chew on).

Everyone is different so it's hard to know how you'll react to the pain, but it does go away eventually - in my case, I haven't taken a single painkiller since I was released home 2 days after the surgery.

I am 26 and I can relate to the saggy skin issue... Especially since I don't have children yet and I read the Tummy Tuck is usually recommended to women who don't plan to have more children. But anyhow, I think if someone is big enough to qualify for the surgery, they would still have saggy skin if they lost all the weight with diet and exercise. I've read a comment here on this forum that said something like 'After the surgery I look great in clothes, not so great without them. Before the surgery I looked bad in both cases'. I hope as I lose weight my confidence level will go up and I won't really care about the loose skin.

And it's not the end of the world, there is so much more to enjoy after this surgery than just the physical appearance.

Pre-op freakout is normal I guess, I had one to. My usual way to get 'in control' in these moment is by gathering information. That actually proves quite useful after the surgery. :)

Good luck!

It's normal to be anxious or to doubt one's self just prior to surgery. However, the thing that always amazes me is how people just assume they have to live with excess skin the rest of their life. People who were extremely obese and then lost a lot of weight most likely will need plastic surgery to remove the excess skin. I will be having a Tummy Tuck and my chest done. So you might want to go ahead and start researching your plastic surgery options now and then start saving up now as well. It will take you time to lose weight and during this process you can form your game plan and save up for your plastics. You most likely will have to pay out of pocket for plastics as most insurance will not pay for it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
