PCP wanted to hospitalize me and "feed" me because she says I am too thin

Recommended Posts

Went to to my doctor because I got something in my eye. I work in a doctors office and I wear scrubs and they hide the fact that I am thin. But she always gives me a hug and she said you are too thin. I have never in my life heard that before. I do not feel too thin. I am 5'9 and 125-126. I have held this weight for a couple months now. I do not want to weigh more than this. My clothes fit me good and honestly don't see myself as being too thin. I see myself as more average. I admit I was "hooked" on losing weight and I got a rush watching the number in the scale drop. This has been quite a journey. I am learning to up my calories if I lose too much (although I will also admit that it bothers me to add calories to my diet). I googled the signs of Anorexia, and although I do have a few of the symptoms I truly don't feel "sick"

Your BMI is 18.5, which is the low end of the "normal" range. You definitely shouldn't lose any additional weight. It does sound like you have some tendencies toward anorexia, but I think your PCP is going a bit overboard by saying you should be hospitalized! You might think about going to see a therapist that specializes in eating disorders just to talk through things and make sure you stay in the healthy weight range and keep yourself on a positive path.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
