I would say you need to call your doctor right now and ask what you should do. There are really important medical reasons that your surgeon tells you to do and not do certain things. That being said, I've seen some people ordered to only have Clear liquids the day before and nothing after midnight, and some people who must have Clear Liquids for two weeks before surgery. It really all depends on your specific doctor, you you really should call him or her. Good luck!

It generally takes about 6 hours or so for food in your stomach to move through the digestive system. I doubt it will be in there by tomorrow at 2pm, but I would make my surgeon aware so he knows what complications could arise; or if he opts to reschedule.

Call your surgeon or the pre-op team and let them know. You may need to reschedule. Having solids before this procedure can put you at risk for complications such as aspiration, bowel obstructions etc.

i'm sorry but why would you eat tortalines before surgery? Call your doctor and let him know...they may have to postpone.

This is pretty much done now. Either she had her surgery on Sept. 2, or it was postponed. @@sallymann never replied so we don't know what happened.

I talked to my doctor Tuesday morning and he said it was okay, and not enough to harm anything or cause complications. So I had my surgery yesterday at 2:30 and I came out with flying colors! I feel good, in a little pain but not anything that I cannot tolerate.

So @@pmanley, no need for your rude comment. This page is for encouragement, not smartass remarks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
