Intense pain on right side and at incision site upon movement

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm new to this site. I just had my Gastric Sleeve surgery on 8/18/15. It was an out patient procedure. All has been going well until 2 days ago. As I was laying in bed and went to turn to my right side a sharp searing pain shot through my right side and stomach. Now any movement I make that requires me to use any muscles or bending motions brings tears to my eyes. When I move I have to apply pressure to the incision site so I can move. My right side is sore to the touch as is the incision site. My 2 week follow up appointment is in two days. I don't want to jump the gun freak out and start calling. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it common, should I be considered or is this something that can wait until my check up, also could I have pulled a muscle?

Larger incision will be a lot more tender for some folks. Do you have sutures? Any weeping from incision sites? To put your mind at ease, you can certainly call your surgeon's office. Hang in there.

Thank you @@kimby1029 but no to all questions. I saw my doctor yesterday and he said it was the incision in the muscle. It should get better soon. If not then he would send me to the hospital for a CT.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
