I have a few questions for anyone who has already had surgery and has Arena insurance ... how long was the approval process after your last nutrition class? How long did it take to get a surgery date? Thanks

I have Aetna and once all requirements were met and all the appropriate documentation got to the insurance (the doctors office drug it out) it took about 2 weeks to get approved. Once approved I was required by my surgeon to do a two week pre-op diet that I started immediately and surgery was scheduled. From correct submission to approval was about 2 weeks and surgery was scheduled for 2 weeks out. Hope that helps!

Thank you that helped! I will have my last nutrition class the end of December ... so I am guessing surgery will be mid February

I had a surgery date before anything was submitted to insurance. It took 3 business days to get Aetna's approval. I received my approval letter after I was home from surgery.

It took about 5 business days for my approval and about 2 weeks from that for my surgery date. Good luck!

It took about 3 days but my surgeon was recovering from an injury so it took a few weeks before I got a date.

That's exactly what happened to me! It was weird to get that approval letter after I was home from surgery for a week.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
