Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know I was successfully banded yesterday (Fri) morning & was released today. Things went really well. Praise Jesus! Only stomach tightness/pain now. I'm curious to know...how long does it take for that get better? And how long were you out of work before you went back?

Butterfly. Huge congrats. I was back at work after 2 days but its really up to you to see how you feel. Doctors will advise a few days. The pain goes away after a good 2 weeks. I'm almost 50 days banded and don't feel a thing.

It's all worth it. Also keep taking your pain meds in the initial stages.

Hi all,

I am at the point of needing some input and encouragement. Since I'm pretty anonymous here, I'll just keep it real :) After going 4 weeks with the liquid, being told I'd have to reschedule, then going on liquid again, post-surgery for me was difficult. Like all of us, I've waded through the waters, trying to see what I would be able to eat. Initially I wasn't too bothered because of the weight I was losing. I'm not even going to lie...Thanksgiving was hard for me. I was scared I would feel bad so I ate very little and nothing I really wanted. So, for some reason, since then, I've been trying to make up for it. I feel like I currently have no restriction but I go for my first fill next Tuesday. My "real" questions for you are this: Did you still struggle with cravings and what you eat or is it just me? I'm dedicated and determined to do this (I'm self pay so that gives me even more incentive), but I know things aren't going to change overnight. I guess I'm really frustrated right now. I chose to do this so I shouldn't be. My husband tries to be encouraging but when he found out I'd gained a few pounds, he fussed at me like a dad fusses at his child. What is the process like? Or what has it been for you? I haven't really added in the working out because I've been so focused on what I could/couldn't eat. I feel like I'm rambling. I'm just feeling some kind of way and being an emotional eater hasn't miraculously disappeared. Ugh! I'm not going to keep rambling. Anyone who is willing to share and help me see the light at the end of the tunnel, please do so. Thanks and I really do look forward to hearing from you...

Ok... So... Some people get these cravings before their first fill, second fill, or third fille, etc. I got this before mu third fill. I got used to the band and the limited restriction to the point where I was gaining weight slightly but more importantly.. Eating like there's no tomorrow. Once I got my third fill last week it all changed. I dropped 10 pounds so fast.. I don't crave anything and I can eat very limited before getting full. Like you, I never exercised through this process. I started at 116 kgs and I'm at 95 kgs now since my banding on 10th Sept. And also I'm self paying so that in itself is encourgaemnt.

So long story short... Hang in there.. But do remember the long term goal when you start eating or cheating and then tell yourself.. What's the point?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
