Hi guys! I'm pretty bummed. I had a skin procedure a few weeks ago & the surgeon would not do the surgery today because it wasn't completely healed. I have to reschedule. All of that hard work has to be repeated :( I just wanted to let you know. Best wishes to you all as the day quickly approaches!

That means you have a damn good surgeon. Patience.

Mine is on Sept 10. Some people trying to convince me otherwise. But I'm pushing through.

I have a question. I'm worried about the effectiveness later. I simply Love food. I don't like sweets and chocolates which is a plus I know but my portions are huge now. Will this be automatically controlled later? What is the feeling you get when you eat post op?

Thanks for the encouragement, guys! I trust God's timing and am so very thankful I have a surgeon who is as thorough as he is. :) Best wishes to the rest of you and let us know how it goes!

The hospital called me in to meet the anesthesiologist. Was a bit nervous when she was going through everything. Almost thought twice about this whole thing. Nervous but confident.

Thanks for sharing. How did you gain weight after?

Did you feel anything during the surgery? How long were you in the hospital?

Maybe it's just Fluid, it can't be fat if your hardly eating. Give it time your body could just be reacting to the surgery im sure it'll settle down. I start my pre op on Sat

I think the weight gain was from the air installed in my tummy as well as the huge amounts of Fluid they infused in me. And last but not least, TMI - but being constipated by the pain meds.

But all is well now. I'm pretty darn happy!

The doc said that surgery would probably be 2 hours but I was done in an hour! Started walking around as soon as I got to my room later that evening and never stopped! The walking was key to being discharged and getting my body woken up from the anesthesia. I was discharged two days after surgery! In on Wednesday and out on Friday. :) Not too shabby!

I've not had any issues keeping fluids down or drinking, and I've had to remind myself to take it slow. Pain has been minimal, but of course, if you move the wrong way too fast, you'll feel incisional pain. Not a big deal.

I have had a "upset tummy" at times, but I think that is partially from drinking too much at a time. That subsides, and the Omeprozol helps.

Happy to answer any other questions! :)

Best wishes to all and I'm so glad I did this! :)

Crash! :)

Guys going in tomorrow at 1pm Dubai time. Felt really bad... Family had a night at a Chinese restaurant and ate my last meal properly. My fasting time before surgery starts in 30 mins. Just hope that I will be able to control my intake after the procedure... Or is that what the band is for :P. Luckily I don't have a sweet tooth

Crash, did you have a band or sleeve op? Sound like your recovering really well. I'm a bit concerned about the recovery as I have a baby & toddler.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
